But Finally...
It was hard getting on the train at first.
I had to pack myself in like I was a sardine,
trying to enter the can
before its lid closed,
before it was packaged away,
and before it left me behind.
My shoulders gently nudged the people’s knees,
as I fought to find my seat
scared for my soul to get crushed
by their mean feet.
I Look,
A bright neon orange, empty, seat
I ran, but only managed to hide under
I wasn’t tall enough
So I was forced to look at what was the remains
of chewed up colorless gum and dried boogers.
Ignorant as I was,
my head bumped into the mess,
trying to jump up again and take my seat,
before I actually crawled out from under the seat.
Driven by the horrible remains that were stuck under the seat,
Finally…I was able to grow big.
From the piled experience
of finding ways to crawl out
I sent splinters of orange plastic flying around me.
Finally…I was able to take a seat
on the neon green chairs.
Finally…
I was able to…
But what do I do now?
My eyes blankly watched the blur
of the night lights zap
along the train’s dark window
For some reason the journey on the tracks
just never paused for a stop
“When will it?”
“Finally…
it will stop, when you know…”
