Finally

The world seemed so dark

Nothing seemed to have any point

He was eating away at my soul,

Always uttering those words

Because I love you

While he consumed my light and my love with no hesitation.

I was left with nothing.

A ruined planet, with no more hope.

But then there she was;

The only star in my inky black sky.

She came from the heavens to caress my soul;

To hold me and love me and love me and love me

I had forgotten what it felt like,

To be warm and safe and loved.

And when she held me close, I asked her,

Why do you treat me so gently?

She pulled me close and whispered,

Because I love you.

And I finally felt happy again.

And I finally felt safe again.

And I finally felt loved again.

And I finally felt whole again.
