Finally Found

Lost within myself
Darkness 'round every bend
I come face to face with the truth
And feel it suffocate me
I am unable to accept
Who I truly am
For I know that I have lied
To make this false personality real
I have hidden
To keep from facing this
I feel trapped
With nowhere left to turn
The walls closing in on me
Whispering "Look upon yourself"
But underneath it all
The lies I have spoken to strike fear within myself
I see the real me
And I find the lost innocence
I finally understand
Feelings long gone
And know
I am hiding
I am escaping
I am fearful
I may no longer run through this labyrinth
It is time to face the truth
The door is opening
And I am freed from the darkness
I walk alongside the real me
No longer fearing what I once thought a demon
For she is merely a child
That can see nothing but hope
I clasp her hand
And feel myself melt
As I rejoin myself
As my soul becomes whole
And I continue to walk into the light
Knowing tomorrow will be bright and mine for the taking
