Finally Full of Smiles

I was scared

Petrified.

I was lonely

Isolated.

My world:

Full of tears, Full of tears, Full of tears

I needed something—

I tried talking

I needed something—

I tried making friends

I needed something,

so I tried writing.

Letters I wrote

showed my life

The letters that I wrote

showed me who I am.

Stories I made

described a new world

The stories that I made

submerged me in imagination.

Shakespeare could tell my story

better than any counselor could.

Homer could tell my story

better than any biography could.

Even Stephen King could tell my story

better than any memoir could.

I was brave

Courage.

I was strong

Independent.

My world is filled with happiness.

My world is engraved in writing.

My world is finally

full of smiles, full of smiles, full of smiles.
