Finally Home
So many secret journeys,
Yet it all ended too soon.
You went off to college, and
I'm left to fend off our family
By myself.
How can I deal with
This lonely high school life?
I'm only a teenager,
But it feels like I'm 30,
I've matured so much, so fast.
Every birthday passes with a sigh.
Now all I can do is
Look forward to your next return home.
We have our up and our downs.
I may tease you with names,
And you may steal my clothes.
But just know I am the way I am
Because I love you so.
