Finally I Am Free

I hear the scribble of pen on paper as I dive deep into my mind. It hasn't been that long, but I feel like I've been writing for all time. I don't care if the one word doesn't rhyme Because finally I am free... The words do that to me. The words conjure new possibilities, see? I can escape whatever bad things happen to me... It's great because I don't have to think on my Faults, just the words on the page... Because finally I am free. The words do that to me. They lend a hand in my search to discover Who I am. They make me feel like I'm flying As my pen swooshes across the page. I can escape the terror and outrage of the Unknown world beyond...and I like it Because finally I am free. The words do that to me.

I love words... I actually started out writing lyrics for songs and then I realized how much more I can express myself through poetry. One of my teachers pushed me to join the writing club at school and the book that the club published had so many amazing writers that I decided that I wanted to be a part of that community. When I write my poetry about a topic that means something to me it makes me feel freer, like a weight lifts off my shoulders every time and I LOVE IT!
