Falling.
The fresh taste of blood salts my lips.
Rage. How dare I dream about a future that may never come?
For dreams bring the pain, despair of hope.
Hope for the better.
Anything better.
Anything [would be] better
Than this hell that is my life.

“This creeping rage is killing us”
Mama believes.
Press on, she says
but Papa says run.
Run. Run into the darkness.

Darkness.
Of skin and sight.
Eyes swelling shut,
I walking on, I become the darkness.
I am nothing, they say.
surrounded by nothing.
Empty, fearing.
Alone.
Yet alone, I do not stand.

Stand.
With weak knees,
stand.
Up- against the hate.
Fight what fuels the hate-
Ignorance.

Spread the word- the word of
Love.
For love burns bright
Burns hate.

Change the hearts.
The hearts of the beasts that spill the blood.
The hearts that must be found.
Find existence in
Change.
