To Find A Lost Child

It grabs hold of me
like a tidal wave
It pulls me in
distorts my image
and sucks me under
I dance on the edge
of sanity and hope
Knowing very well
that the edge is
close, knowing
very well that
if I were to
fall, I would
not be able
to gather
myself
in any
relatively
ordinary
matter
I am lost
and I did so
on purpose
To escape
a fate once
destined,
but now
I must
escape
from what
I have come
to know so dearly
But with my fears
I will exert enough
energy for you to
find me, and even
If that is not possible
Maybe I can find myself.
