The Finding

Leading to your house

The muddy street

Wettened by tears

Glistens in the midnight light;

Your favourite flowers

Strewn on the wayside

Besides the jasmine shrub

Tell the tale;

Amidst their crumpled parts,

The love for you hides.

Why did I weep?

Why did I flood the street?

Who allowed

Sadness to creep in

When the glad tidings

Of a new sunrise

Had just reached you and me?

Why am I joyless?

The search of the Me within

Would have helped I thought,

There was nothing there.
