Finding the Borderline

Golden was that section of my life,

when I was undeterred by others.

Rapidly that would change,

and I would never forget.

Oh, the memories of the times before!

Why couldn't I fall asleep and awake in my dreams of those times?

I realized, in this new place,

that I was unlike the others.

Nobody understood me, an old soul, indeed.

Gravity came down upon my heart,

loneliness had found me.

Underneath all of the smiles and laughs,

the fake interest in trivial conversation,

that's where the truest me rests, waiting to be freed.

Perhaps I can identify this realization.

Do you see the borderline? I do, that is what it is.
