Finding God

If I were deserted anywhere,

I would only need to bring one thing

Of course, I would want to bring with me,

My parents, food, water, and a life jacket or two

But I only really need to bring God.

Not literally, but with the Holy Quran

A small Quran that would fit right in my hands

With both Arabic scripture and English translation

I would run my finger down each verse

Trying to repeat it to myself with complete concentration

After doing so, I’d search and ponder the meaning behind the verses

All 114 chapters of the Quran provide a Muslim with something different

If my mind wanders to question life, death, wealth, family, love, education,

Or if I feel lost by my emotions whatsoever

As I’m sure I will

I know God will provide me with ease through his words

I may not have many possessions or resources with me

But I have absolutely everything if I have the Quran

After all, the creator knows its creation

This deserted land is a way for me to build my relationship with God

And strive to find my real home

The home that will always provide eternal peace and bliss

That home is Jannah
