Finding Hope
We dream of flight far, far away from here
A turbulent future distantly close
Something incomparable to sucrose
Back and forth we whisper “stay strong my dear”
Imagining triumph in the mirror
Hope swirling round creates an overdose
Impatiently we plan the race and pose
Seeking fulfillment soon we crash, no gear
Bound by the promises of “one day soon”
We find little solace left to capture
In small outbreaks we see light like the moon
Freedom withheld, darkness comes back stronger
We must remember the someday and swoon
For our light still grows on the back burner
