Finding The Inner Me

Growing up without being financially stable
Made me wonder if I was the only kid without cable
I wanted to be popular so bad
But I couldn’t afford the things my friends had

In my eyes I seen a materialistic society
Kids trying to look cool instead of facing reality
I didn’t take the time out to find myself
I was too busy tying to impress everyone else

As I got older I strengthened my mentality
I found myself and who I was spiritually
I learned to love myself no matter what anyone thought of me
Proved doubters wrong & became more than what they expected me to be

I realized I was more than just optimistic
I have potential and will not be labeled as a statistic
