Finding The Inner Me

Growing up without being financially stable.

Made me wonder if I was the only kid without cable.

I wanted to be popular so bad

but I couldn’t afford the things my friends had.

In my eyes I seen a materialistic society.

Kids trying to look cool instead of facing reality.

I didn’t take the time out to find myself.

I was too busy tying to impress everyone else.

As I got older I strengthened my mentality.

I found myself and who I was spiritually.

I learned to love myself no matter what anyone thought of me.

Proved doubters wrong & became more than what they expected me to be.

I realized I was more than just optimistic.

I have potential and will not be labeled as a statistic.
