Finding the lost YOU
Are you scared of those zillion pairs of accusing eyes,
That follows your trail throughout the day,
Do you hear the tip –tap of footsteps which is not your own,
When walking on your lone company,
Are you intimidated by the obscurity of your own shadow,
Wandering for a moment of privacy,
Does every direction you turn to start,
Bombards you with arrows of perturbing questions,
Unable to answer, though you know the right one.
Does the voice that sings the goodness of your own intuition,
For the first time seems to be lost for words of wisdom,
In the race of finding the best from the better,
Did we forget living and owning the now,
From throwing light to the undiscovered glories of self,
Did you engulf yourself in the all-encompassing worldly darkness,
It proves that the fear of being yourself usurps the desire to be the good old you.
Wearing those masks that buries the remaining traces of uniqueness,
Faking those smiles that meant nothing near to happiness,
Pretense and disguise filming the image you want others to see,
Veils and blankets to hide from the judgments and allegations,
Though it doesn’t uphold a morsel of the fact.
Not long before the dormant spirit roars back to life,
Setting you on a path of realization and discovery,
Abashing and slamming the world through the emergence of the new,
Declaring courage and confidence through its arrival,
Alerting those evil waves of influence to stay away,
Regaining purpose and soul to the void that halted for long.
Finding the lost you.
