Finding my Soul

Maybe I don't know who I really am yet,

I'm still trying to define my own mindset,

In a world of pain and insincerity,

I can’t be sure to see with clarity,

All I know now is that I can’t be another,

Just one more stranger that doesn’t bother.

But as long as I make it without pretend,

I know it will all be worth it in the end.

And when I feel lost, I know lights will shine,

They will guide my way, give me a sign.

God will never let me go no matter what,

My faith will keep me moving, bringing me up.

Life’s a struggle, but my dreams will pull me through.

The scars received on the way will tell the truth.

They’ll be proof of a strong will that can’t be held back,

Of a heart that will stand for the truth and fight back.

I’m right where I belong, paving my way to success,

Working hard, never forgetting that life isn’t about excess.

No matter the pain, no one is the blame

I’m not here for me, but for all the same.

Life is about happiness, loving those around me,

Giving my heart and soul in everything that I do.

It’s not about what I look like or what I got,

It’s not about people knowing my name or not,

It’s about bringing my one hundred per cent to the game,

Remembering where we come from and loving all the same.

This is the essence of my soul:
