Finding My Words and Smiles

Labels are

Just

Words

Used to describe a common experience,

Used to feel as though you belong.

I am more than that.

I am more than words can express,

Yet words are the only things that will ever express

Who

I

Am.

I am taking a gap year

To fill in my gaps.

Learning how to be me.

Finding different versions of myself.

Who do I want to be?

How will I do it?

I must figure this out

As I go along.

Pretending to know.

"Fake it til you make it."

You see this bright smile

I will never show in pictures.

(will you ever find it?)

It keeps appearing,

Disappearing,

And reappearing again.

That smile is me,

A part of my soul

I usually keep hidden,

How I look with no filter.
