With each passing night came a day gone
We were drooled on forever
Forever was too far away
Questions of being nothing without you
Ask me again on my balcony
I wonder what went wrong
But I know this is right
Pushing through the motions
But my body is motionless
This is a mental test
That I studied from the rest
Familiar pain to the heart only in the dark
I will face the dark without you
I forgave you but will forget you in the end
Each passing day grows heavier on my shoulders
With hate rid remorse and revenge
Waiting on someone to take you away
Walking faster out the tunnel with each breath
Seeking the dream you’re nowhere to be found
Taking my one way ticket to that uncharted destination
Where my memories will be only waste
Name and face erased
Your line has been drawn
My dream will turn into reality
When I figure out who I am
Baby I’m looking in the mirror
Confused as to what you made me
I pray this doesn’t last forever
I only want to do what I was meant to do
Isn’t that a bitch I knew you were bad

This is such a powerful poem, because it really makes the reader think about how the people we know do not make us who we are, but rather it is up to us to make ourselves into the person that we wish to be. My favorite line is "My dream will turn into reality / When I figure out who I am" because once you discover who you wish to be, everything will fall into place.
