Finding Myself

I am not a person of great wealth

I am not a person of great beauty

I don't always care what others think

Though sometimes I care too much

High school is hard for girls

You can't always be yourself

Actually it's nearly impossible

There's gossip and nagging

Plus boys are a big deal

Grades seem to mean so little

Well, until you really need them

Sometimes I have a hard time with words

Speaking, that is

When I write there are no boundries

I am able to be whoever I want to be

And my favorite thing to do

Is turn the words into melodies

When I sing what comes from my heart

I am free

It's like I have found myself
