Finding myself
Sitting in the dark at three in the morning
Wondering how she snuck her way into my head again
Finding a pen in the dark to relieve my mourning
Writing my words, my feelings, my love again and again
Leaving a trace for you to find
Hoping she likes me back I realize
She's not the one for the rhyme on my mind
Writing and writing eventually it hurts the eyes
Looking for the truth of the matter I rhyme, reason, and lie
To myself of all people. I lay in a shatter
Now and forever looking up to the sky
For my real reason. l need to clear this clatter
All of sudden it hits relieved I sigh
Knowing the secret I write on
Leaving my soul on paper
Leaving everything before dawn
Knowing there won't be a later
My body disappearing as I write
I leave the last of everything I have
My mind, my body, my sight
All that's left is on that paper it's all I have
