Finding Myself

In this age of new technology,

Can I not escape this ancient hate?

One side judges me by the way that I talk,

The other on the color of my skin.

Is there no medium in this raging war?

No haven of acceptance?

Do I abandon one part of myself,

To be accepted in society?

But I wish not to live a lie.

I shall scoff at peer pressure

And seperate myself from the masses.

Maybe, away from the hate,

Away from the whispers and scorning stares,

Maybe I can get a clear picture of the world.

And learn to love who I am,

Accept that I am different,

Then find others who feel the same.
