Finding Myself Through Poetry

Looking through the darkness

Trying to find the light

Looking at the sky to save me

Wanting to be held and never failed

Looking for ways to get around deep waters

Rather than go through

Poetry broadened my worldview

Poetry has helped me through tensions

Poetry has helped me with school apprehension

Poetry has taught me that everything is Art 

And that no one should be left behind or torn apart

Everyone is different and not everyone is the same

Poetry has helped me with so many things

Poetry is something I thought I would never do

Poetry has helped me figure out my way through

Realizing the older I get,

the more I find myself grow through poetry
