Finding Purpose Through the Hurt

I met a girl named E

She was the prettiest girl I had ever seen

I was lucky to call her my best friend

We played many games together

Through the rain and the sunny weather

I never thought our playtimes would end

A day came along where our friendship was gone

Like a broken crayon

We were one color separated with different purposes

I met a girl named Y

We talked about school, clothes, and even gossiped about a guy

She was going to be my friend until the end

From creating a safe place for me to be me

And allowing me to feel free

I knew I had found a home in her love

Time passed and our relationship died

I was left alone to hide

The time had come for me to discover what purpose I had to fulfill

I found a girl named K

She had battled through a bunch of gray

A true warrior at heart

Her friends had left her

She could not concur

With the fate that was in her past

She told me one thing that made me learn

Something that truly made me churn

A lesson I never thought I would need to know

Getting hurt and feeling alone

Helps create your purpose

As you grow old
