Finding Something Real

I have told myself throughout this whole year

That I need something

More than just these artificial

Relationships, possessions, and beliefs

I want something real

Something that's not a person

Because people aren't 100% perfect

And therefore, they cannot always be

100% genuine

This isn't a bad thing

Our flaws make us who we are

But I really just want to find something

That is completely genuine

In every perspective

In every way

I'm not necessarily looking for a material thing

I actually don't know what exactly I'm looking for

Maybe it's a sight

Might just be a word or another belief

All I know is that when I find it

I'll know that I've found it

The one thing I know exists

To be completely genuine

Is God

And because I know he is real

I know other genuine things exists in this world

I'm certain he has left something more authentic

For us to find

We just have to look

And until I experience whatever that is

I will keep searching

Whether I find it on the Earth

Or into the afterlife
