Finding Who Was Lost

I used to lose my way
Lose myself in the hype of the crowd
Become one of the feckless left to ask:
Who am I without a filter?

I've changed myself this way and that
To satisfy those who didn't even matter
Those who will never ask:
Who am I without a filter?

I am not the girl who follows trends
Not the girl who parties every night
I am the girl who asks myself:
Who am I without a filter?

I am the girl who has the heart of a five year old
The girl who listens to tunes of the soul
I am who I am and now have no need to ask:
Who am I without a filter?

I stop wheedling the crowd
I stood strong for who I was
There is no seperation between me and the filter
Who am I without a filter?
The same me with a filter
