Fine China

One summer early morning
I felt something crawling on my back
But once again my dreadlocks found it's way out of the ponytail I made
My roommate was still sleeping
So I put on my slippers and I tiptoed down to the coffee shop
I watched the sunrise from the window. While looking out the window I noticed where I was
I worked hard to get there
At the time I've been in China for a month
Its been 4 weeks out of 6 weeks that I am supposed to be staying there
While in China I felt so exotic
So unique
So FLAWLESS
Everyday I spend most of my time taking pictures with groups of Chinese people
They asked me to take selfies with them
Take pictures with their children
Because I was a foreigner
They were so fascinated with my hair
They didn't believe that my hair was real
But when I told them it was real in Chinese, they gave me the biggest grin
Making people smile because of my presence
Makes me feel special
All the insecurities I had no longer existed
As if I was.......
Well, I am ......FLAWLESS
