the fine lines of fear

something terrible happens when you let fear control you

it's as if the world stops spinning and all you feel is the weight of that fear

"you're not enough," it whispers. "why even wake up today?"

"why ask her out, why go to that party, why study for that test, why sign up for that play?"

"you're not enough"

all you want is to beat it. to wake up and prove that little voice wrong

"i am enough," you shout back. "i want to wake up!"

"because i like her, i want to go out, i deserve an A, and i want to do something i love"

"i am enough"

although when you do all of those things you still feel those butterflies flutter

something magical happens when you let fear push you to be better
