Finest Wings

May your mindset be set into our minds, May

Your acts of kindness into our bones to give us strength

to do the same

Your memory in our purple hearts  

And may your love be in our veins

You gave us direction with your compassion

Examples of tolerance, lead with your actions

But the Commander, felt a hole in His army, with your Absence

Clothed those who were naked

Fed when hungry

A smile, a warm heart, and loyalty

That's how serve his country

Hate that you had to go home so soon

We carry the weight of your legacy, to become strong like you

Carry your passion on our backs, so we may grow wings like you

And now you fly

You served as a shield, against bashful hands

Served as the definition of a man

Because you took care of your responsibilities, you were the definition of a father

A soldier, because you always had on God’s Armor

Indeed you were one of the world's finest

One of a kind, because of your generosity and  kindness

Generals here could only give you stars

You served under them, but now you serve under a king

And In place of stars He gives you wings

Wings that let you soar
