Fire

Fire. I… am fire. I am the spark of passion. I am the gift of Prometheus, Creative and Destructive. I am like a demon with a heart, Swept up in my shining passions, And in my fiery emotion I shall spread at a volatile velocity. Moving as fast as Mercury, a mercurial force My Protean flames Spurred on by the breeze of joy and the torrents of anguish, Falling as fast as an angel without wings, Faster than the blink of a blink of an eye, Than a comet blazing with heat. Fire. I am… FIRE. I am a dense conflagration of flames, And in my anger I will spread, Unbounded as a boiling sea, And I will burn Everything in my path Without a second thought I am a hissing monster, A painful pandemic, And I will wreak havoc with the ignorance of my sin, And my guilt shall be fuel to the furious inferno. And I shall burn in the heat of my own destruction. Fire. I am fire. I am the candle that burns in the night, A beacon in the darkness. I am an outpost of dreams and of hope, Surrounded by the forlorn darkness. And I shall burn; oh yes, I shall fight, I shall struggle despite the omnipresence of the pitch-black night. And my resistance shall know no bounds, For I am the ebbing flame that keeps on burning, I am the crescent moon; And though my wax may wane, My spirit shall never waver For hope Of the sun. Ashes. I… am… ashes, Scattered throughout the oppressive desolation of The Arctic Tundra. In the wake of a furious tumult, I exist no longer; I have been extinguished by a lachrymose flood. I am a ghost, a memory. Being a memory, I am fading. And being something that fades, I will be forgotten. But I shall remain, and lurk among the depths of A subconscious sea. In the wake of the night’s eclipse, Wispy smoke rises above my ruin, Thinning out into the clouds like The subtle whispering of A thought in the Back of one’s Head, Slowly dimming in the Repressive Silence Of the Mind. The sun has risen. There is no longer a need for fire. And yet, my coals still glow beneath the dust, And from my ashes I shall rise again. I am passion, creation and destruction; I am anger, guilt, and suffering; I am hope, stubbornness, and resistance. I am fire; And though I may not be needed, I shall smolder infinitely, and I shall be set ablaze against my will. I am the immortal torch, and I shall be carried by the hands of time.
