The Fire

Everything is going down in flames
Burning so hot there is no way out
Smoke obscures the light of day
Turning noon into night

Smoke curls on the walls and the floors
My mind is going numb and I can't
Stop coughing to save my life
But it doesn't matter

Everything's falling apart
Families are torn
Houses go down in flames
There is nothing but the dark
