Fire

burning embers glow like fireflies dancing across the night

the sweet smell fills my lungs
as the smoke rises, reaching for the stars
the constant glow overcomes the seemingly never ending darkness
the old is diminished to ashes
allowing more room for the new

I am a visual art student in NY but love to dip my toes in writing in my spare time. I write about my mental illness and life experiences as well as the beauty life holds.
