This Fire

Its blaze keeps me afloat

It gives off smoke in case of a boat

It keeps me alive these lonely nights

In the dark it provides me dancing lights

It cooks my flavorless food

It attempts to give me a good attitude

It boils my waters which tastes tainted

But I can’t help to feel so isolated

All I can think of is my darling

I see him in the water sparkling

I see him in these flowing flames

I see him is my everyday pains

This fire may keep me warm

But this fire can’t hold me firm

All I wish for is his tender voice a soft touch

Only he provides an inner warmth that cannot budge

This fire may keep predators at bay

But only he can keep my fears away

This fire may do all these things to keep my alive today

But the thought of seeing him again keeps me fighting every day
