Fire

Bruised by your words and burned by your memory

free me off the burden i carry

take your hand off my mouth and allow me to breathe

yes that hand, the hand that holds the times you defended me like a gentlemen

that same hand now cuts off my air supply

I just may die if I dont get you off my mind lord help me

You're not who I thought you were

and you may never be

but your facade of the perfect guy continues to intrigue me

cant seem to break free of your lips

or the way you used to hold me

If this is prison, then I'll stay in incarceration if it means I get to day dream about the single carnation you layed on the pillow next to me

If this is prison, then I'll do twenty five to life if it means I get to fantasize about the life I would've had as your wife

but this shouldn't feel like prison to me

it shouldnt feel like hell every time I inhale

but our hell is getting comfortable

and thats a problem with me
