Fire and Ice

She rose, eyes burning like an immortal flame, with a cat-like stride smooth and unbreakable. He taunted, his voice layered in the coldest ice, shredding through her memories both lovely and horrific. They circled planning matters of despair and revenge, unable to achieve the violence of dark and light. Her speech ablaze with words of curse, directly from the Underworld. His vile gestures further awakening, the flame with promised ending. They fought, flame melting ice, smoke and steam the only calm to the chaos. Wilder than flames she ripped him to pieces, payment for the unwanted pain. His ice sheets sputtered and fizzed, her loyalty and rage never-ending. Heaven and hell at war to the end, fire and ice will never be friends.
