Fire and Ice

i hate that i have to be the one to admit

that i'm not over this

i hate that i have to always be the one

to bend to your will

you say you want it that way

and you most certainly will get your way

because you know i won't go

you used the part of me that loved you most

to your advantage

i took your jealousy that tried to control me

and turned it around

twisted the sound of your words

it's clear to me now

we're fire and ice

you use the light that burns inside of you to suffocate me

and i take waht's left of my cold, freezing self to drown you out

this is not love,

it's just torture

i've had enough, but i can't let go of

fire and ice

we became addicted to the pain that we cause

forever entrench in emotions of the other

burnt out by you fire and chilled by my words

we never stood a chance in this romance

so you go your way

and i will go mine

we'll be okay

it may take some time

no more using me, letting me down

i won't twist your words or shudder at their sound

we both know

we're fire and ice

you're my favorite vice and i'm your sweetest form of abuse

you can't get enough of bringing me down

and i can't let myself keep being pushed around

it started as love, and turned into war

i've had enough, i'll lay down my gun love

cause we're fire and ice

we push and we pull till we fall down

but i don't want to be stuck to the ground

i'll choose to love you still

cause i'd rather be burnt by your love

than left to freeze
