Fire and Water

My fire will burn through all, bringing nothing but pain. My flames flicker at my edges, keeping everyone far away; it’s for their own good. I’m nothing but destruction and my fire has no remorse until I’m all alone. I’m left all alone with my everlasting light. When you come along, you diminish my flames, sizzling them with your cold, wet touch. Somehow, amidst my self destruction, you came and found me, colliding with me in a way I have never truly known. You came close enough to my painful, roaring flames, bringing me down to a small flicker. You showed me I can be loved.
