The Fire of Community

A flame so bright floated upon your head,

A glowing orange-y red.

I looked you in the eyes and you smiled,

And that glint of joy made my heart feel wild.

I felt your gaze upon my head

And I felt a sense of dread,

But your eyes held so much love

It felt like an angel came from above.

Then I knew I wanted to be just like you,

To grow and leave this feeling of blue.

And slowly my flame grew as well,

And your hand made it swell.

This flame of comfort was new,

And all I ever needed was you.

Now I share my flame

So that no others will bear their shame.
