Fire in Her Veins
I am the girl with fire in her veins
Every breath I take, is laced with embers that scorch it's way through the words I speak,
giving my dialect, passion in sparks.
I am the girl with fire in her veins
For my eyes know how to burn
They will melt away your hard exterior leaving your heart warm and exposed. Ready to receive the light my eyes are willing to give.
I am the girl with fire in her veins
My soul is set aflame with a simple touch.
The molten arms of love within me blaze and reach for my heart
They try to strangle it, turn it black until it's charred to a crisp.
I am the girl with fire in her veins.
But I am immune to my soul's wicked ways and only relish the warmth it comes to offer. I know how to burn from the inside out.
I am the girl with fire in her veins
My flame radiates and the lights way through the dark.
Many try to dim my internal inferno for it is blinding
But they don't know that I am already without sight and navigate through destruction.
But I am the girl with fire in her veins
And even though my wildfire charred the paths I took
It left life in its wake,
Burned away the diseased and left room for the new.
Like a Phoenix rising from its own ashes.
The fire in my veins remains ever burning, dreading the day someone puts me out.
