fire valencia

We walked together once and she told me how they just watched from the windows as the nearby mountains burned. It started like a cough over there and then it spread, coated their evening in Halloween orange. This was in the summer. She just left her glasses off, looked at it blur through the miles, and went back to bed. the horror was that no one wrote about it.
