Fireflies
I sleep beneath the fireflies
tonight, lonely, upon a paddy field,
where they frolick and nourish
their love and amorous desires.
I raise my hands gently to touch
and to feel the fragile angles
and I pass into a lovely hallucination.
I feel like touching stars
and my body seems to float
Over an ocean of oblivion
In the buoyancy of thoughts.
In deep slumber, in sacred realm
of dream, love and pure minds
I see you waiting for me
Surrounded by starry fireflies.
Oh, beloved, you seem to utter
Something , I struggle to listen.
But so feeble is your voice and,
stronger , my uproarous subconscious.
I move to sense your lips
to understand what you convey
But in the realm of muse
You disappear and I find myself
Lying solely under some clouds
With a firefly upon my hand.
