Firefly

Growing up in a shadow,

A shadow too enromous to ever lighten,

Forever engulfed in blackness.

Never too late to have a thought,

A thought making that light bulb aglow,

Glowing brighter, warmer, and more powerful.

Dimishing the ghastly shadow,

To whom overcasted your very being,

Gone, gone, gone is the charred darkness.

Light and bright is what you have become,

No heavy shoulders, no overbearing weights,

Freedom has arrived.

Fly, fly away,

Little firefly.
