A Fire's Glow

I am so mesmerised by you, and off-put at the same time. You are energy and my weakness. You are the remnant of a fire's glow. You're the bud of fire that endlessly bounds with strength, determination, and vigor. But I don't love you. I loved the idea of loving you. I wish, too often, I could restructure the way I responded to you. In our distance you are completely unaware that I still feel your heat. Carefully I remove a gloved hand...My hands, they want to touch you, but they must be restrained. So I return the gloves to my hands. Then, I cover my eyes with cloth. And still, there you are unseen but felt. Dear flame, you're a fire... I cannot reach you but you follow me everywhere.
