Fires Never Lit

Typing,

Writing,

Quickly,

Swiftly,

Carefully,

Hidden,

Words secretly written,

Secretly hung,

Verses to be sung,

Back of a door,

Scattered on floor,

Picking up bit by bit,

Igniting a fire never lit,

Putting fight into someone’s eyes,

No longer vanquishing our cries,

Words and letters,

Powerless until strung together.
