Fireworks

Through torn and tattered streets
Through a racing heart beat
I watch as my world crumbles before me
An endless collapse, it came from across the sea.
I watch as mothers lose their children
Who's will is this, then?
In a past life, fireworks were to celebrate, to bring joy
Now, for those who live in peace, our lives are a mere toy.
Our now peaceful land is torn asunder
And due what, to one ideology's blunder?
So now, we huddle in this destroyed church
Above us, the whistle of fireworks.
