"Fireworks"

As the sun plunges and evening breaks

Dusk emerges and I’m wide awake.

Waiting and waiting for the right moment and surrounded by soaring towers.

I'm confined by thousands, muffles, and conversations.

As I move around them they instantly cover my tracks.

There are carts jam-packed with sweets and glow-in-the-dark accessories.

Roaming all over I’m full of curiosity and temptations,

And that’s when I got my first jumbo Benjamin.

There’s constant flickering of iridescent lights, the stars shining so bright.

And I’m still waiting.

Awhile later gun shots suddenly fire into the air.

They’re spewing out colorful rain in the shape of palm trees.

The cascading colors crossing and clashing while flying into the night.

Some colors as intense as strawberries, tangerines, and lemons,

And other colors as vivid as emeralds, sapphires and amethysts.

The variety of shimmering showers range from willows to time rain.

When the glimmer starts to slow down, the show is approaching the end.

The blazing sparks start to flicker and flutter rapidly, and then

They die out all at once and after that the crowd stirs back up.

Instead of staying, my parents and I leave before the roads buildup.
