The First

I remember the first date

the first memory

the first kiss

I saw you look at me

like I was your wish

I held on tight

and still do today

to the lovely man

who showed me the way

He showed courage, love, bravery, and trust

it wasn't about

crazy lust

He showed me the way

where I wouldn't be used or lost or neglected

There were no lies, no secrets... I trusted

He gives me the life every girl deserves

no insecurity, no jelousy, no lifeless preserves

We both have had it bad they say

but in his arms

there is no other way
