The First Awakening

How was I suppose to fight?

The secrets, the fights, the tears

Coming from just my family

When I was just in class

Hoping that 6 grade wasn't that bad

The change in my demeanor

didn't go unnoticed but not from my friends

But my teacher

I felt the presence of her eyes

Making me clench my fists into my palms

Begging her to leave me alone in my head

However if it weren't for her I would have never

understood how much teachers were a big help

And I realized maybe I do have someone to trust
