The first child

First Child.

The pressure is on me

It feels as if everyone is looking just at me

It feels as if I cannot make a mistake

None of the younger siblings will ever know the pressure that is on this first child.

Parents expect a lot.

Make a minor mistake, and it is as if you disappointed the family

Perfection is not in me, but they will never understand

They claim that it is “easy,” but in all reality, you are stuck with eyes over your shoulders

First Child, I understand you, and you are not perfect

All you can do is try

All you can do is live

No matter how hard you try, you will always be that first child with eyes on you.
