The FIrst Day of the Rest of my Life

(poems go here) So one day I was sitting on the couch My mom left the room What was to come I really didn’t know But my eyes were left in zoom I sit there watching A kid with his mom in a park So interested and in tune But then comes on Showtime after dark In the past my mother warned That if I touched the remote My little ass would be torn So I sat and I watched And a monster was born Mom was outside for she could not see What was about to brew up in my little body So focused on our landlord Rosie She didn’t think twice about being nosy So I watched and I watched Even more interested now What were they doing? Why? And how? Up and down, left and right Things going in and out of sight A whole new world was forming Cause I surely wouldn’t forget this in the morning SLAM!! Goes the door I can hear her coming I turn the TV off And quickly start running Now I lay me down to sleep I pray dear lord my soul to keep What was it that I witnessed tonight? Please dear lord shed some light
