First Flight, First Need

They say it is hard,
You think you can manage,
But it takes a bit,
To really see the damage.

We were packed to leave,
Very eager to go,
We should have known better,
Should have taken it slow.

We started the engines,
And held on real tight,
But that first one alone,
Would be a very rough night.

It takes more than money.
It takes more than strength.
"I am here if you need"
Really helps in the first length.

The lesson was taught,
The roots dug in deep,
Know who you can talk to,
Before you make that first leap.
